How We WorkWe measure up.Especially for smaller projects you may be tempted to use a "handyman" or "rent-a-husband" service, and these individuals can be talented and well-intentioned. The problem is that they don't know what they don't know, and may take on a project that exceeds their experience, or a project that suddenly grows once the wallboard is torn off. We are professionals. We know the building code in your state and the building inspectors in your town. Our team comes in a commercial truck, not a station wagon, wearing uniforms not just work clothes, and is supported by our tested subcontractors when needed. We show up.It is unbelieveable that simply keeping our appointments with you would make us different from other contractors, but you know it does! Whether the date is our first meeting with you, a project review and estimate, or the start of the work, we will be there. We listen up.You have been thinking about your project and you have ideas about it. Part of our job is to help you make good choices about what will look good, work well, and last long. But first we have to hear your ideas and your questions. When you talk to Don-Martin Construction about your project you'll be talking to Dominick, not to a sales rep who is looking forward to a commission check rather than visualizing your finished project. We write up.No matter how small the project, we will give you a written estimate and project description to be sure that we agree on what's to be done. That doesn't mean that no changes can be made once the project is on paper, but it does mean that you will always have hard copy that documents each change we make together, and you won't have to rely on your recollection of hasty phone conversations and feeling pressured. We partner up.Don-Martin Construction is a team. Many projects, especially larger ones, will involve not only full time Don-Martin Construction employees but also specialists and craftsmen that we have worked with in the past and whose work we are proud to guarantee as we do our own. Even when the perfect touch for your project is a technique like curved veneers, dry stone masonry or ornamental metalwork in copper and brass, we can include the custom work in the project plan rather than send you to look for a second contractor. We finish up.Quality estimating and our commitment to your satisfaction mean that we stay with your project and stay with your schedule. If weather or availability of special order materials are a contingency, you will know it at the time of the estimate. If problems occur that could not reasonably have been foreseen, we will offer the best and most economical alternatives. We clean up.We know that in many cases you are trying to live in or around our project site. We do everything possible to keep noise, dust, tools, and stored materials to a minimum, and to leave the worksite clean and safe not only at the end of the project, but at the end of every work day. We follow up.We want customers who will be customers forever, and who will mention us to their friends, neighbors, and colleagues as eagerly as they mention the best tree surgeon and the best babysittter. Whether your next project is larger or smaller than this one, we want you to say "We'll get Don-Martin Construction again." If you sell your home we hope to see the house again because you have mentioned us to the new owners. Since we always hope to be seeing you again soon, we always work to a standard of quality that will make us proud by making you happy. "For someone like me who knows next to nothing about home repairs and improvements, I needed to find an experienced professional that I could trust and with whom I felt comfortable. On project after project, Dominick and his crew have confirmed that I made the right choice." |
